Amapiano left the kasi and landed on the world's biggest stages. We asked 200 South Africans how they listen, who they follow, whether the money is fair, and whether the sound still belongs to them. The answers are prouder, more divided, and more commercially revealing than the streaming numbers alone suggest.
Dootsa surveyed 200 registered South African panel members between 14 August and 13 September 2026 (31 calendar days) on Amapiano listening behaviour, artist sentiment, economic perception and cultural identity. The instrument ran 23 public-safe questions and took a median of 5 minutes to complete. All figures are aggregate and rounded; no individual responses or small cells are published.
