South Africa's education debate is usually told through matric headlines. We asked 263 South Africans what they actually see — and the answer is a nation invested, informed, and unconvinced that the pace of change matches the stakes.
Dootsa surveyed 263 South Africans between 3 September 2026 and 15 September 2026 (13 calendar days in field) via the Dootsa app and web platform on the state of education. The instrument took a median of 5 minutes to complete and was stratified across age, gender, province, area type, and living-standards proxy where available. All figures are aggregate and rounded; no individual responses or small cells are published.
